Ironic fluorescent spots of light? People used to sleep at night, when it was quiet. What is quiet?
No silent night in here, love,
no jubilant ovation.
You will never know enough
with concrete information.

i'm trying to figure out what connection you're making between non-silent nights and non-new poetry..or ARE you making a connection at all
The song "Silent Night" is the epitomy of "old" poetry... compare it to modern faith poems, for example "Song of Simeon" or "Ash Wednesday" by TS Eliot.
